SCM Programme Centre
Pattom
Thiruvananthapuram
Finished construction in 1972. Since the beginning, it has served the student community in their search for meaning, purpose and beauty of life. It continues to support the regional programmes that enable the student community to explore themselves and their society; to realise the dimensions and depth of faith expressions and commitments; to unfold the gifts of talents and possibilities; to understand the social system and cultural values that enable social life, as well as that, constrains human life and relations on the basis of gender, caste, race etc. The faith commitment generated by the centre inspired generations of student communities to be with the marginalised and downtrodden people and to be with the efforts to build up a just and peaceful society..

Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Centre for Cultural Studies
As a socially committed faith movement of students, SCM is bound to have deeper understanding of the socio-cultural structures and practices of our nation. Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, one of the greatest intellectuals of India, had done extensive socio-politico-cultural analyses of Indian society. Baba Saheb Ambedkar’s intellectual sharpness and political determination crafted out the Indian Constitution which is the backbone of modern, democratic and secular India ensuring protection and liberation for the marginalised communities.
SCM Programme Centre, Thiruvananthapuram houses the Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Centre for Cultural Studies to organise study programmes and courses. The activities of the Centre will focus on understanding the thoughts and contributions of Dr. Ambedkar as well as engage with other thinkers and theories on Society, Culture, Subaltern and Religion. The student community along with other sections of the society are benefitted by the programmes.
